Akashi Meisei Japanese Blended Whisky 500ml

Akashi Meisei is a blended whisky from the White Oak distillery under the Akashi label. Rarely seen outside of France this is very spicy with a whack of vanilla.

This Deluxe version of the Akashi Meïsei blend also aged in American oak barrels, has the difference of being a blend of 50% malted barley and 50% grain whiskey, but also benefited from an additional one-year refining in Sherry cask.

The soft and sweet aromatic profile of Akashi Meïsei Deluxe is fully expressed on the nose with notes of honey, vanilla, chocolate, cinnamon and orange zest and delivering on the palate a mellow and balanced character with woody and spicy aromas, and notes of dried fruits and nuts. It is the finish that will highlight the maturation in Sherry casks the most with vinous and fruity notes.

Nose: The notes of honey and vanilla bring a soft and sweet nose; aromas of chocolate, cinnamon and orange zest warm the whole.

Palate: Well-balanced on a mellow palate marked by woody notes, dried fruits, spices and nuts.

Finish: Long and soft, it reveals the advantage of a finish in Sherry barrels on fruity notes.
