Glenmorangie Dornoch Limited Edition Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a limited edition release from Glenmorangie inspired by the Dornoch Firth, the shores of which is where the distillery is located. To achieve the desired evocative profile Dr. Bill Lumsden has used classic bourbon cask matured Glenmorangie as well as some lightly peated stock matured in Amontillado casks (see more in the video below). LVMH also make a donation to the Marine Conservation Society for the preservation of the firth for each bottle sold.
Glenmorangie Dornoch Tasting Notes
Nose:Â Familiar nectarines and apples, lemon, coastal grasses, caramel, soft spice.
Palate:Â The caramel develops into demerara and the peat begins to make itself known. Tiramisu, star anise, hints of nutty smoke.
Finish:Â Malty, fruity Glemorangie with some earthy, peaty depth.
Overall:Â Still classic Glenmorangie, but a measured injection of peat and Amontillado cask influence help greater evoke their beautiful home.
