Amrut Fusion Single Malt Indian Whisky is a particularly apt name for this fantastic single malt whisky from Amrut. Y’see, it’s made with barley grown in India, where the Amrut Distillery can be found, as well as peated barley from Scotland! Makes sense, right? Not just a clever name, it’s also a cracking whisky, offering up generous helpings of fresh fruit, honey, spice and a good whiff of smoke.
Amrut are the better known Indian whisky producers and their family of single malts are winning many awards. From sherry cask and peated whisky to whisky that is produced in orange marinated sherry casks. The innovation from this distillery is world leading and one to watch.
Jim Murray’s voted this single malt his third best whisky in the world for 2010. Amrut Fusion is a fusion of whisky made from 25% peated barley extracted from Scotland and 75% barley extracted locally from India.
