Bruichladdich Classic Laddie Scottish Barley is created by Jim McEwan from whisky matured in American oak casks alongside Lochindaal, and chosen to represent the classic, unpeated distillery style. Bruichladdich’s new signature bottling is made with 100% Scottish barley.

Opening with barley sugar and a hint of mint before leading into the most wonderful notes of freshly cut wild flowers buttercup, daisy, meadowsweet, myrtle, primrose and cherry blossom

A combination of ripe green fruit, brown sugar and sweet malt bring closure

An unpeated multi-vintage cuvée, non-chill filtered at 50% ABV£

Matured and distilled at Bruichladdich distillery on the Scottish island of Islay – one of the only distilleries in the world to be BCorp certified

Bruichladdich Classic Laddie Scottish Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Elegantly sweet with honey’d barley, boiled sweets and orange petals. Wafts of sea air.

Palate: Red apples and white grapes, with touches of sweet cinnamon and brown sugar. Still softly coastal.

Finish: Mineral-rich malt, with toffee and more honey.

The foundation for Classic Laddie is not a recipe set in stone, but a distilling philosophy. The distillery has no interest in consistency or uniformity, instead – year by year – the variety and provenance of the barley shapes their spirit, and an ever-increasing range of casks are sourced to evolve the suite of flavours in our warehouse. Each batch of the Classic Laddie will, by nature, be unique and subtly different, but it is ultimately the Head Distiller who curates this assemblage of finest spirits, to showcase the classic, floral and elegant Bruichladdich house style.
