Nose: Shortbread, waxy orange peels, pine resin and a subtle waft of hickory smoke.

Palate: Smoke remains soft, letting notes of vanilla and mixed nuts lead the way.

Highland Park Eagle 16 Year Old Wings of the Eagle was created to celebrate the wild and windswept islands. Their waters are stormy, winters are long and few trees can survive there… but that just makes for a more harmonious whisky.

Orkney winds can reach speeds of over 100 miles per hour in winter and this means that our moorland peat is treeless but rich in fragrant heather, which, when burned, produces the characteristic aromatic smokiness of our whisky. In this whisky’s case, when you pair that smokiness with maturation in hand-picked sherry seasoned European oak casks, you capture an intriguing depth of flavour.

With harmonised notes of sweet figs, apricots, nutmeg, chocolate-coated marzipan and aromatic heather-rich peat-smoke, 16 Year Old Wings Of The Eagle is an uncompromising, wildly harmonious single malt whisky.
