The Kurayoshi Pure Malt Japanese Whisky has a soft and refreshing fragrance of malted barley complimented by sweet and tart notes of rum raisins, malt and vanilla. Aged for more than 3 years in ex-bourbon white oak casks. Finished with high-quality natural spring water from Mount Daisen.
It’s a blended malt from little-known Japanese whisky producer, Matsui Shuzou. It’s made with whiskies sourced from Scottish distilleries, blended with Japanese whisky and volcanic-stone-filtered water. The distillery is located in the Tottori Prefecture, the least populous prefecture in Japan, well-known for its sand dunes.
It expresses a sweet, refreshing malt flavor, balanced acidity, bitterness and sweetness with notes of raisins, nuts and vanilla, and woody notes that are harmoniously distributed in the mouth.
Matsui Shuzo was established in 1910 and has been producing shochu every since. The boutique-sized Matsui Distillery is located in Tottori, a coastal prefecture on southern Honshu in the ChÅ«goku region of Japan.Their whiskies are characterized by the pure underground waters from the Daisen Mountains that they use while aging their product. Malt whisky from Scottish distilleries were sourced and transferred to Japan where it was blended with malt whisky distilled at Masui. It’s aged for a minimum of three years in ex-bourbon casks.
