Glencadam Single Malt 15YO 1 Litre

Glencadam 15 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

The Glencadam distillery was founded in 1825 and produces 1.5 million litres of spirit annually. The distillery has two stills and is situated near the River Esk in the Highland region of Scotland. It takes the water for its spirit from nearby springs in the surrounding green hills. The current owners are Angus Dundee plc who purchased the distillery in 2003 and also own the Tomintoul distillery in Speyside. The whisky produced at this distillery is an important component of Ballentine’s blends. Expect floral with notes of orange and citrus fruits. It has a refined dark oak undertone and is an elegant single malt whisky.

The Glencadam 15 year old is a multi-award winning single malt whisky. It was the pick of the year by online vlogger Ralphy as his whisky of the year in 2017. Sadly the whisky was deleted from the core range not too long after only to return again in 2020. Using only ex Bourbon barrels to show the character of the Glencadam spirit this whisky is bottled at 46%, non chillfiltered and has no added colour.

Nose
Pronounced orchard fruits and vanilla pod mingled with aromas of citrus peels and toasted nuts

Palate
Sweet and creamy with layers of sugared almond and panna cotta followed with notes of dried apple, nutmeg and cocoa powder

Finish
Perfectly balanced with creamy rice pudding and gentle cinnamon spices lingering long on the tongue.

Savour it neat, on ice, with a mixer or in a cocktail.
