Tullibardine The Murray Triple Port Cask Finish Single Malt Whisky is the twelfth limited edition in the Tullibardine Marquess Collection which marries together three types of port cask: white port, tawny port and ruby port.

The result is a delicately blushed peach spirit which imbues a cacophony of sweet, fruity and warming aromas and flavours. The nose delivers tart raspberries and succulent black fruits, perfectly balanced with a subtle hint of baked apple and crème caramel from the white port.

The tawny port, aged in oak barrels bring layers of spiced oak, cloves and cinnamon, which creates a spicy and warming finish.

Nose

Rich both sweet and gently sour cherries and berries, red apple, slightly dusty oak, subtle vanilla and caramel, cinnamon, wee bit of ginger, lightly floral honey and a small piece of drying dark chocolate. Wealthy nose, inviting, intriguing even and most definitely most original.

Taste

Lots of dark fruits, not turning overly sweet but silky and slightly oily in the glass. Bit more oak char and it’s spice, once again subtle on vanilla and caramel, wee more cinnamon, nutmeg and clove. A very particular drought in the core, not overwhelming but blending in just nicely. Fine complexity and depth.

Finish

Medium to long, lingering oak spice, a modest rise in vanilla mixed with nutmeg and an elegant sweet dark fruity drought.
